Focus

I will be documenting the site as part of an urban design research project investigating four major development areas: Columbus Circle, Atlantic Yards, and Times Square, that have impact the city of New York. All four sites are mega developments that have caused major opposition from surrounding neighbor hoods, and have caused major transitions in the local economy, social paradigm of the area, and character of the neighborhood.  

To continue my research I have decided to focus on comparing the transitioning between the oldest historic buildings in each of our location to the newest development in terms of scale, usage, materials, style, and social impact to understand how large scale-influential projects transitioned within each location in order document the socio-economic and architectural conditions that impacted each succeeding development.
